IOW, there’s no reason not to get together, but unlike belief, which usually brings a religion, a holy book, and some form of organization based on the belief and the book, not believing in a god or gods doesn’t provide the same sort of thing.
An atheist can be anywhere on the politlcal spectrum (except perhaps theocrat) and not be inconsistent philosophically because atheism isn’t a philosophy.
