It’s a special place to me because it’s where my family started our American journey. A lot of my athletic rooting interests are rooted in that even though I’ve only actually visited Pittsburgh once but I have been to Johnstown more since mom’s aunt and uncle still lived there when I was a kid. Mom’s Aunt was my godmother too.

It’s an area that embraced its diversity to some degree. However there is still a hefty racist undercurrent since the surrounding counties are mostly white (95%+ IIRC).
