For all the talk about the job market being tight, U-6 unemployment, which includes people working part-time who can’t find a full-time job, and people marginally attached to the work force, is still at 10%, which is a point higher than the pre-recession average.
I blame a lot of that on employers who refuse to take chances on people. Can’t tell you all the stories I’ve heard about qualified prospective employees getting turned down because the employer and HR found a fault. That’s exactly why I don’t worship the “job creators.” I’ve been fucked too many times to count since graduation.
