Being able to say you would love to go back in live in the 50’s or whatever idealized decade really to me just shows one’s inherent privileges mostly as a white person especially as a heterosexual white male.

And even then, polio, measles, no seatbelts in cars, fear of nuclear attack… Ah, the good old days!

Disclaimer: I was born in 1953 and grew up in the suburbs. It was a good childhood, but I don’t think it was significantly better than my own kids in the ’80s.
