I spent part of the weekend watching a series of doom-and-gloom financial videos by a gold-bug. He’s one of those Austrian economics fans, but I have to admit that his charts showing the boom-and-bust cycles of the financial markets are compelling. He noted that regulators and financiers learned absolutely nothing from the 2007-8 bust, and went back to business as usual as soon as the government bailed out the big banks.

Regardless, bull markets do not continue indefinitely. There will be a correction, perhaps while Trump is still in office.
