My preference is portobello burgers. I stopped eating red meat 25 years ago and have no interest in vegetarian/vegan dishes that mimic meat. Are Satan burgers just seitan burgers?

My issue with any kind of alternate burgers is texture - if it doesn’t chew like meat, I can’t eat it.

Beyond Burgers are the closest in texture to beef, and they’re pretty tasty to boot. How they did it with a mixture of beets and peas is a mystery, but I find them edible.

My wife is always looking for substitutes that I’ll eat every once in a while. Beyond Burgers pass the test for beef, and she buys Quorn as a chicken substitute. That is also very similar in texture to chicken.
