The most religious person I personally know is Catholic and bought enough of The Audacity of Hope for her entire class to have their own copy. Almost everyone in my neighborhood is Republican, and they are by no means extremely religious. I think most of the dollars raised by Republicans are from businesses, too.

It’s been a while since I looked, but last I heard most Republican funding came from small individual donations of under $250. The Dems collect most of their funding from large corporate contributions. At least, that was true during the last midterms and the election cycle preceding them. Not sure about the last election, but I doubt much has changed.
