On the night of the election, Trump was ahead in certain states that he ultimately lost because all the votes were not yet counted (including some that had not yet arrived). Elder could not pull that off since he was losing so convincingly from the moment the vote count started. Trump claimed “victory” on the night of the election based on the incomplete count and thereby primed his supporters to accept his lie.
