He’s treading a very fine line here. He’s gotta front to his dumb-ass listeners, so he cooks up an exaggerated number of advertisers so they’ll think losing 50 advertisers is no big deal.

But his national accounts have abandoned him, and he’s gone so far as to tell his listeners to boycott the advertisers who have left - and that’s not going to endear him when he inevitably goes begging to those advertisers to come back.

The longer he relies on his own bravado to make his listeners think he’s still flush, the more money Clear Channel and its affiliates will lose.

I’m thinking the numbers guys at Premier and Clear Channel are freaking out right now as they watch their cash cow take a hacksaw blade to their financial jugular.
