Attack occurred in a NATO member nation with the Russian ambassador being shot. This is exactly the kind of thing that goes directly to the President’s attention (and if there were warnings of threats that were picked up in chatter, they too would have been included potentially in the PDB). You know, those things that Trump doesn’t care to follow too closely.

So, now we’ve got a potential crisis situation and Trump’s first reaction is usually to spout off on twitter with some nonsense. Measured responses are what are needed until more information is available.

Not for nothing - a whole lot of end-term shenanigans are going on, which makes you think that America’s enemies and rivals are trying to get a feel for what Trump will do without the consequences of Trump in the WH at the moment, since Obama still gets to make the decisions until 1/20.
