I gotta agree with MsJ here. The whole point is how embedded the double standards the news media operated and continues to operate on persist and influence the results we get. Obama didn’t do in 8 years even a tenth near of what Trump has already done in his first 11 days, this is true. But look at how Obama was treated so often, where he and allies had to seemingly provide proof in triplicate that something wasn’t going to be the literal apocalypse and the news would still breathlessly act like he just gave the Seventh Sign.

Trump, for all his mayhem, is still getting soft pedaled and treated more gingerly than unilateral action like the WH’s deserves, even after countless, countless attacks on the media itself by Trump and supporters. They still treat him with more respect than Obama ever got in his honeymoon period, even when other media are rightfully pointing out and mocking how much of a shitshow this is.
