Incidentally, I acknowledge that putting a 71 year old man and his similarly elderly wife in front of a firing squad on Christmas day was pretty harsh. Even so, we were pretty lucky the collapse of communism in eastern Europe wasn’t more violent than it was.

A 71 year old man and his elderly wife who made life hell for millions of Romanians for a long time. Brutal dictators rarely die peaceful deaths.
