There’s parts of that I agree with, but I don’t actually think Trump is scared of the consequences of deportation. That’s why he’s balking at the deal right now. He was never going to agree with a bipartisan deal.

I do agree that Democrats don’t need to take anything that sacrifices one group of immigrants for another. I didn’t mind Schumer’s concession of money for the wall because the wall is going to take longer to build than Trump will be in office.

I thought the bill as written says “border security” and not specifically a wall. I think that goes to what has been talked about more lately…drones, cameras, more patrol, additional fencing where still needed, etc.
