People here have all kinds of counter-intuitive ideas derived from Traditional Chinese Medicine, such as cold weather (anything below 20 degrees C) promotes illness, so it’s best to wear as much clothing as possible. Germans are famous for wearing socks and sandals.

My notion was always that it is warm enough for sandals then there is no need for socks…
