It should be flat for everyone; if it costs a hell of a lot more to live someplace, that’s a place that people who rely on their UBI to survive should move somewhere else.

That goes back to my wife’s and my discussion. If you work in an industry or field in a very expensive city, moving to Nebraska or Wyoming isn’t going to do a bit for you to get a job (unless you want to do something like chuck a degree in computer science and become a farm hand or railroad worker).

As others have noted here, professionals sleep in cars in San Francisco because it’s so damned expensive.

Forcing people out of San Francisco because they don’t make enough seems like gentrification on steroids to me (but sure a good way to get rid of those undesirable poors).
