Ok… so tell us, what were the differences between the Whigs and Democrats, wrt economic policies at the beginning of the 19th century?

If I ever knew… I’ve forgotten by now. I could guess that differences centered around tariffs, and probably the establishment of a National bank, but those would only be guesses.

I have NO IDEA. I have never had the heart to check on what I wrote that day, but I discussed tariffs a lot, probably incoherently, and posited that the Democrats were already identified with Southern agricultural interests. I passed the test, which is all they’ll tell you, and I never looked back.
