“Jihad” is not a neutral word in English, not aimed at a Muslim correspondent who is upset with you.

If what KT said to C_L was in the context of a lighter conversation, I’d scratch my head about it, but I wouldn’t think that he was trying to hurt her or piss her off, because it might be some sort of in-joke between them or something.

As the matter stands, however, with the course of the thread and the fact that C_L was a bit pissed with KT, I’d say that KT came off like a complete jackass in his reply to her, even if he didn’t intend it.

Words have consequences.
