Laugh if you must, but people who keep kosher never get food poisoning; they’re at no risk of trichonosis, or berri-berri, they don’t have to worry about red tide… even before there were such things as refrigerators and pasteurization.

Also, a house that Pesach prep rituals is vermin-free, which is why medieval Jewish villages didn’t get plague when the Christians in the village down the road were dropping like flies.
