It’s just about the only English accent I can reliably recognize. When I used to make regular trips to London I’d practice my English accent in my hotel room in hopes of someday trying to pass myself off as a local, if even for only a sentence or two. I never got good enough to try it out in public.

Marina Sirtis neutralized her Cockney twang quite a bit during her stint as Counselor Deanna Troi on Star Trek: The Next Generation; it’s a hoot listening to her speak with her real accent.
