re: #11 Holidays are Family Fun Time

I actually had this debate with a Music Appreciation Teacher in college. I won.

It takes a long time to prove “staying power”. We won’t be alive to know which of the modern artists will be recognized in 100 years. You can’t look at the Beatles or Led Zepplin and ask if they will have the staying power of Mozart. No one knew in Mozart’s time that his music would still be played in the 21st Century.

If songs like Stairway to Heaven or most anything in the Beatles or Zeppelin catalogs isn’t considered a classic a hundred years from now, it wouldn’t be a world worth living in.
