Funny thing is, the Tories that loved Thatcher hated Reagan as a soft-headed, overly-sentimental mess.

It was weird to be an American kid there. Lots of nastiness from adults, and then their kids repeated it. Didn’t help that the first friend I made was Kenyan, and thus down for double of whatever I got.

Got weirder when I developed an Oxford accent. Then I got to overhear stuff.

Yeah it seems to me that Thatcher didn’t think much of Reagan. Sucks that oyu had to go through the bigotry. Do you still have the Oxford accent today? It’s interesting to hear my two cousins who each have children that they’re raising in Britain since their accents are definitely British but perhaps not quite. I’ve definitely noticed that my cousins themselves have adapted small British accents and definitely use the slang and spelling. My one cousin was always a bit of an Anglophile anyhow.
