Cheney was a Texas resident until the committee he led decided he was the best choice to be Bush’s running mate in 2000, he changed his residency to Wyoming and all was good. One of the Trumps would just have to change their residency to Florida or wherever. Technically, the president and vice-president cannot be from the same state.

Cheney did have Wyoming backstory:
