Funny thing about my wingnut cousin - when I talk about immigrants or blacks, he say, “I live among these people”, but I looked up the demographics of the town where he lives. 98.97% white, which means in that town of 3000 people, there would be about 30 people IN THE WHOLE TOWN who aren’t white. It works out to 2 black people, and 8 Hispanic.

Remember the old South: a few whites with a plantation of blacks. Southerners never had problems living among blacks as long as they knew their place, weren’t “uppity”, and didn’t vote, and served the white establishment. My brother talks about how integrated his neighborhood is. He thinks Texas is the greatest state and is all on board with voter suppression.
