It is certainly possible that many will quit — which is exactly what Trump wants. He’s hollowed out the State Department and now he’s inflicting damage on much of the rest of the government. This is really very worrisome.

They think that’s what they want, a mass exodus of federal employees from the shuttered agencies/departments which will somehow lead to a reduction in “dead weight.” But we already know that’s a crock because Trump has had to start hauling back “non-essential” personnel just to avoid politically damaging scenarios such as tax refunds being delayed.
