It’s hard to accomplish anything when you don’t even have a seat at the table. The President can yammer on about a “new era of bipartisanship” all he wants but when he defines bipartisanship as “my way or the highway”, it’s easy to see why all you hear from the right is sniping from the sidelines because that is the only place they have.

I have no desire to see the republicans holding hearings in basement rooms and attempting to institute a shadow government. That’s not the way our system works. The only thing they have going for them right now is their votes against Obama’s economic policies and the fact that the stimulus is not working. The vast majority of their amendments are shot down by party line votes if they’re even allowed out of committee. Most of the public never even hears about them.
