I was in Frankfurt 5 years ago, another airport layover. We went into the city to do some sightseeing.

Many things went wrong. We were coming from Israel and did not have the proper outerwear for Frankfurt in mid-November.

The Frankfurt Jews were the RUDEST and most UNFRIENDLY we ever encountered, no one spoke German, only Hebrew, Russian or English. Zedushka, just like in Amsterdam, spoke Yiddish to everyone, FTW!

We found out that just week before some maniac with a knife ran through the synagogue slashing people at random. That explained the METAL DETECTORS, barricades and convoy of police cars everywhere.

We paid 20 Euros for a very unsatisfying lunch of soup and bread.

On the train going back to the airport we had to stand up while a bunch of teenagers grabbed all the seats.
