From the previous thread (I’m trying to catch up):

Such an idea goes beyond stripping voting rights, at least if it was applied the same way Germany did. It strips citizenship (the original Nuremberg Laws called those who did not meet the correct criteria “subjects, not citizens”).

Even as suggested in the comment though, I would lose my right to vote.

Taking voting rights does more than simply ban you from casting a ballot: I would lose my seat on my village board (you have to be a registered voter to run for office here). You can be banned from jury duty in many states.

Take it the further step and strip citizenship (UN resolutions on that not withstanding) and you can take a whole host of benefits away from people.

re: #470 HappyWarrior

The more honest ones like Coulter admit it when they talk about having a Nuremberg like citizenship law. Annie’s idea is that only people with all four grandparents born in the US can vote which would mean for me despite the fact that my first immigrant ancestor arrived here in George Washington’s time, I would be the first to be able to vote in my family as all four my mom’s grandparents were immigrants and one of my Dad’s. The GOP knows they shit the bed with minority voters. Instead of admitting error or trying to be more welcoming, they want this because they know they’re a failure of a party when Americans of all backgrounds vote.
