I’m gonna go out on a limb and predict that those things massively increase rotational mass, which is generally not a good thing.

I think the point was that their use in relatively low-speed (urban/cruiser environments) would be a distinct advantage.

It’s certainly not a competitive tire, unless they can toughen it be a useful trail tire.
