No more than many Hebrew biblical stories can trace their roots to concepts and understandings that were already ensconced in earlier civilizations, these political machinations that Alinsky codified in his book are all based on tried and true political tactics that have been around for ages.

And really, the English politician in the Baroque period actually would have made Alinsky look like a city councilman.
