Bacon appears to have rebelled because he was left out of Bekeley’s patronage, and wanted to lead attacks on Native Americans. The argument was Natives were raiding frontier settlements.

While he was busy with his army in the colonial capital, his own area was raided by said-same natives because he’d taken all it’s defenders to overthrow the government.

Yeah the Governor seems to have been awful too.
