Yeah no doubt. Honestly in a lot of places, there aren’t any records before the 18th century. Ireland started registering births in the 1860’s I believe which makes me SOL since my last direct ancestor left Ireland in the early 1850’s.

Federal censuses in the United States only started listing names of household members in 1850. Births, deaths, and marriages are sporadically recorded around and before that time period, depending on the state.
