So, I take it they wouldn’t be big fans of a Lovecraftian universe…..one where man is but a transient creature, and there’s no one out there to save us or even care?

So, instead of ‘the universe is run by a benevolent god who sometimes, for reasons we can’t fathom, makes bad shit happen’, you get ‘the universe is a horrible place run by a malevolent god who mostly doesn’t give a shit about you, but if he does, it’s bad news for you’?

Think I’ll stick with ‘the universe isn’t being run by anyone. Consider yourself lucky to be alive for as long as you get to be, because a lot of it is really fucking cool!’
