re: #245 wrenchwench
As requested, only took four years.

It’s more like pictures of boxes that have bunnies in them, but close enough for government work.
As I recall, the best line that didn’t make it into the article (linked at my original comment, and still worth reading in full) was: Pilot, ‘Did you say “rabbits”? Do you know it costs $5,000.00 just to start one of these things [helicopters]?’ Firefighter: ‘I’m sorry, we have our orders.’ Pilot, ‘Don’t apologize, it’s the first worthwhile mission I’ve flown!’
I remember, during Katrina, watching a newscast of a Coast Guard helicopter rescue of a rooftop victim.
Guardsman on the rooftop with the basket: “Lady says she won’t come without her dog.”
Pilot: “No dogs.”
Roofman: “Says she won’t come without him.”
(pause)
Pilot (with a “what can you do?” tone): “How big a dog?”
Lady and dog both rescued. I never think of Katrina, to this day, without hoping that New Orleans erects a statue to the Coast Guard, the only federal or state agency that simply did its job, and in fact did it heroically, during this horrendous disaster.
