Your use of the term “identity politics” here is a hell of a way to dismiss and dehumanize people of color, women, and the LGBTQ. Pretty gross actually. You can view the white working class as people, but these other Democratic voters are reduced to a pejorative abstraction.

The thing is, ‘Keep NV Blue’ is right, and Tom’s response is ALMOST right. He’s right that what he calls ‘Identity Politics’ by minorities is a big part of why we have Trump. The thing he misses is that ‘Identity Politics’ is not just nonwhite nonmale nonstraight nonChristian people demanding rights, but also the long, long history of white male straight Christian people identifying them as ‘Different’ and treating them as less deserving.
