Earlier I said my cuz lives in Waimea. Wrong. It’s Kamuela, but still far from the volcano.

This cousin I may have mentioned before. She was the “mystery cousin” who disappeared from view for close to 30 years. Two of us managed to track her down finally only a few months ago. Phone calls were unsuccessful — she lives in a senior citizens community and the office people were not being especially helpful. My cousin B wrote her a letter, which was delivered, and about two months later, she called him up.

I’ve talked to her twice in the last week for about 90 minutes each. She’s 73 but still as sharp as a tack, and as talkative and opinionated as I remember.

Say what you will about those “people search” websites, sometimes they can be used for good as well as evil.
