1) So, he’s NOT expecting the tariffs to go away, then?
2) Just exactly who the fuck does he think pays tariffs, anyway? He keeps talking about our trading partners paying the tariffs, but that’s not even remotely how it works. Those tariffs will be paid by consumers, who will find things cost a lot more suddenly.
So, Trump and the GOP will have managed to cut the tax burden on the rich whose consumption is a much smaller part of their income, and shifted that burden onto the middle and working classes, whose consumption is essentially all of their income.
Oh, and at the same time, they’ll be losing jobs because other countries will impost tariffs on our goods, and multinationals will shift production out of the US.
