Agreed.

Child-FREE, not child-LESS is how I have to explain the fact that at 43 I have no children. I’ve actually had someone say to me, “Your life must be so empty!”

And to the marriage issue, I’ve been there done that and don’t see the point in doing it again. I’ve been with the same partner for 11 years and his parents still don’t understand “why we would go as far as pretending to be married but not do it!”

I don’t even try to explain.

I never wanted children or to get married. Then I met my husband. I will say, that having had a child I tend to feel the same way about those who don’t. It’s something I can’t explain.

That said, it’s a matter of choice. Marriage and Motherhood were MY CHOICE. I can’t imagine how I would feel if it weren’t.

I’m not sure I could love a child in the way I love my child if that child was forced on me, that I didn’t want.

I certainly wouldn’t want to be that child.
