re: #250 Backwoods_Sleuth

I hope Cosby gets what’s coming to him—some time behind bars for drugging and raping those women. I’m a black female, but I was never a member of the “Black Folk Look Up to Bill Cosby as a Role Model” Crowd. I thought it was very offensive of him to lump all Black Americans together when he made the claim that essentially, we are our own worst enemy when it comes to explaining why we haven’t made more economic progress in America, and why so many black males are incarcerated. He forgot that not all blacks have chances to get the breaks that he did. He also conveniently forgot/forgets the role institutional racism played, and plays, in upward mobility for a whole lot of Americans, not only Black Americans. It’s as if once he made it, he forgot where he came from and his past experiences with having to climb uphill against almost overwhelming odds. Ben Carson, Allen West, Alan Keyes, Armstrong Williams, Stacey Dash and other black conservatives seem to share a lot of Cosby’s traits.
