In my 40-odd years of sitting next to UC Berkeley and shooing the younguns off my lawn, I have seen more and more casual intermingling of all races, starting from my college days, when it was practically nonexistent. So there’s that.
I think it was Warren Beatty, around the time Bulworth came out, who observed that it was remarkable that Halle Berry was considered a sex symbol - just as much for white males as black males. He noted that such a thing would’ve been practically unthinkable in his youth.
I agree with that sentiment entirely.
