Not the same thing. American kids going to weekend camp to learn how to shoot aren’t being taught there that they must be ready to martyr themselves to kill Canadians. Such camps emphasize strongly that arms must be used responsibly. America’s arms are intended to protect our freedom, not to take the freedom of others away. Hamas’ arms are intended to be used to commit genocide.

That’s the problem I have with guns and America’s fascination/obsession with them. Protect our freedom? From whom? The government? Al-Queda? That guy down the street who lets his dog shit on my yard?

The 2nd Amendment needs to be seriously reviewed. We do not need guns in today’s society to survive. I’m not against gun ownership, hunting, sport shooting, etc., but this notion that it’s a vital cornerstone of American life is antiquated and out of touch with modern reality.
