You can tell that the current gen consoles are nearing the end of their lifespans, because all the new shooter series are being announced as either launch titles or slated for release within the first year of the next gen, leaving plenty of space open for experimental games to try their luck.

I’d like to see new takes on commonly used genres. EA released a GTA like clone set in WWII but the game was far too linear for me and I thought the plot could have been more original too. Still Saboteur was a neat game. Still hoping someone makes my dream stealth game where you have to escape from either a prison or prisoner of war camp and it has the free roaming abilities of a Grand Theft Auto like universe.
