Oh, my, yes.

The employer owes his employee only enough compensation as will keep him from walking. The employee owes the employee his maximum effort at all times regardless of how poorly compensated he is.

For the employer, it’s a business arrangement. For the employee, a moral obligation. That’s how their minds work.

Notice that the “moral obligation” only goes one way…
