As Decatur Deb pointed out the ammunition for small arms can be obtained just about anywhere.
It’s the complex weapons; tanks, MICVs, aircraft; that have their parts made all over the country. The pork barrel politics of arms manufacturing in the States makes this necessary. As I recall ever state in the union has at least one manufacturing contract regarding parts for the M1.
I figure when the States break up neither side can keep their equipment running for long so there’s good money to be made acting as a middleman.
No, RH—the SCAMPs have driven most NATOish small arms production off the market, except for ‘boutique’ calibres. That’s why the fascination with full-auto weapons among the threeper/preppers is a hoot. After the first morning of SHTF they’ll wish they still had their bayonet lugs.
