This shirt reminds me way back of something in comics in the aftermath of the good ol’ WoT. Ultimate Marvel (the parallel soft-reboot of the mainstream Marvel books) its Captain America taunt an enemy by pointing to the A on his helmet and screaming ‘Do you think this stands for France?!’, as a statement that he wouldn’t give up, in an obvious jab to the French for supposedly being cowards. In response, the then-writer for the mainstream Captain America had him go on an illustrated monologue about the bravery of the French soldiers he fought beside in WWII, as a total contrast.

People who call the French cowards have no idea about places like the Somme, Ypres, or Verdun. Or that entire villages in France lost their entire young male population due to war. I mean yeah I’ve joked about the French too but I respect them far more than the Keyboard Warriors who hated on France for not supporting Iraq.
