Yeah, I profile. I don’t profile the driver’s personality of course but if I’m coming up to a light and see a dump truck, a Buick or a school bus I’m usually trying to gauge who’s going to move when the light turns green. People do this all the time and I’ve seen lines of cars get into the left lane to avoid the dump truck only to find that the dump truck (which happens to be empty) is moving faster. The Buick bias is as I explained in that it was a very popular car with senior citizens when I lived near Toms River.

I do the left lane on turnpike tunnels by default based on that sort of predictive behavior.

Hmm, I managed to miss the parade in Philadelphia today. Poor me./
