re: #265 Blind Frog Belly White

I gotta say, I’m souring even more on the whole ‘anti-establishment’ idea. One problem with anti-establishment types is that often they lack the depth of knowledge and thought that you see in people who’ve been working on this shit for decades.

Consider Hillary’s detailed, well thought out, nuanced answers on a broad range of topics. Compare that with Bernie’s more ‘One Size Fits All’ responses. What Bernie says is true, but it’s not the WHOLE truth, and his answers don’t reflect decades of considering policies and effects.

On the GOP side, the depth of Trump’s ignorance of policy, disdain of nuance, and arrogance about his ability to make whatever he wants happen is terrifying. Frightening as the others are, Trump is terrifying.

I’m mystified why people think being ‘against the Establishment’ is such a great thing.

Honestly maybe it’s just me getting older but the more I see “anti-establishment” as a mere slogan, the more I see hollow bs. I can understand why people don’t like so called career politicians but I also think most of the time I’d rather have an accomplished legislator who’s worked their life in politics than someone running off raw anger. Of course, Bernie really is different in the sense that he’s an as much a careerist as Hillary is. I will grant that she’s more establishment than he is but I’d also add that he could easily be part of the establishment if he worked on actually passing legislation rather than trying to be the progressive of them all.
