Here’s the problem: Jennifer is the problem. Conservatives like Jennifer have been the problem for years, have been cultivating and reinforcing this mob again and again to reach their goals. When people pointed out how the angry mob was getting out of hand, how it was getting violent, and how it was on the verge of taking over, Jennifer and her fellows attacked the people sounding the alarm. Like a pack of von Papens, they assured folks that the mob could be controlled, that it could be harnessed for “good.”

But now, like in all violent revolts, the rebellious mob has turned on those who nurtured and grew it, seeing in their calls for moderation and incrementalism the very sort of “liberalism” they were convinced to rebel again. And now Jennifer is speaking out, not because she’s had a change of heart, but because the mob has turned on her.

In other words, another clueless Dr Frankenstein seeking help vs. his rampaging monster from the same villagers the monster was supposed to destroy instead of going after Dr. Frankenstein.
