From what I understand, Cage is pretty much up to his eyeballs in debt, having squandered something like $100 million on absolutely stupid shit; as a result, he’ll take any role he can get to pay it off.

He’s got years of back taxes to cover; the IRS agreed to let him stay out of prison on condition that he work at least 280 days a year at whatever kind of work he can get.
