Sometimes the “white guy” trope gets old. The overwhelming majority of us white guys have never desired to do any such thing (see also the “veteran” trope, “mentally ill” trope, &c).

True, but Jane’s point was that he’s getting treated differently than black people. When Trayvan Martin was killed, they published that he was doing pot. He was the freaking victim. Yet the NYT claims that he’s crying for help or attention for the Austin bomber.
