Fascinating story: she’s not only an ex-fighter pilot, but a Marine ex-fighter pilot? Good luck to Ms. McGrath, she’ll need it.

However, a couple of things about that story: “massive” turnout? OK, well up from the last round, apparently, but still on,y in the hundreds(?). And the unspoken question: even leaving aside the seemingly rote “Dems in disarray” spin, will the national Party back her? And/or her Dem rival?

And yeah, the GOP take is ludicrous: I realize it’s Kentucky and all, but “far left”? Or is that just the all-purpose insult of the week?

I doubt the party will have trouble backing her. They did Obama. And I would say that the fack that the Democratic Party primary turnout for a midterm primary is larger than the presidential primary turnout is a big deal.
